Position Summary/Job Duties:

Race Day Events, headquartered in Madison, WI is a leading event production company, specializing in running and multisport events. Event Specialists play an important role in the successful production of some of the area’s largest running, multiple sports, and endurance events. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling, opportunities for growth, comradery of working as part of a team, opportunities to travel, and the chance to help people achieve their dreams.

This is a great paid opportunity for a college student looking for flexible, weekend-based work. You’ll work behind the scenes at races, concerts, and other events while gaining hands-on experience in event production, operations, customer service, and logistics.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist with the setup and operation of race day event sites, including fencing, cones, start/finish areas, water stations, registration areas, signage, and other event equipment.
  • Monitor event sites and courses, quickly identifying and resolving issues as they arise to keep events running smoothly.
  • Interact with participants, volunteers, vendors, and team members to help provide a positive and organized event experience.
  • Communicate and work closely with the event team, taking initiative and assisting wherever needed throughout the event.

Position requirements:

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and a strong team player who enjoys working with people.
  • Available to work early mornings and weekends.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving a vehicle with a trailer is a plus.
