JOB OVERVIEW

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for leading the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department while ensuring exceptional cleanliness, presentation, and service standards throughout the resort. This position also oversees the resort's breakfast operations, ensuring clean, welcoming dining areas, proper inventory management, and compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards. The Housekeeping Manager leads, develops, and supports high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Working collaboratively with all departments, this role ensures seamless operations and an exceptional guest experience through strong leadership, sound judgment, operational excellence, and a commitment to quality, efficiency, and service. Full availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is required to support the operational needs of the resort.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department, including guest rooms, public areas, laundry operations, back-of-house areas, and breakfast facilities, ensuring all areas consistently meet the resort's high standards for cleanliness, presentation, safety, and guest satisfaction.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule, evaluate, recognize, and hold team members accountable while fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing work environment.
• Manage staffing, daily operations, and labor resources to maximize productivity, efficiency, service quality, and departmental performance.
• Deliver exceptional guest service by responding to guest concerns and partnering with other departments to ensure seamless resort operations.
• Develop staffing plans, assign daily responsibilities, and manage labor resources to maximize productivity, efficiency, service quality, and departmental performance.
• Conduct routine inspections while monitoring quality standards, guest feedback, inventories, expenses, and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Coordinate departmental projects, including deep cleaning, preventive maintenance, renovations, pest control, and other operational initiatives.
• Oversee breakfast operations, including cleanliness, presentation, inventory, ordering, cost control, and compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ensure compliance with resort policies, safety procedures, OSHA standards, lost and found procedures, and departmental best practices.
• Utilize property management systems, Microsoft Office, and other technology to manage departmental operations, reporting, scheduling, inventories, and communication.
• Identify operational challenges and implement solutions that improve efficiency, employee engagement, and the overall guest experience.
• Maintain accurate departmental records, reports, inspections, and documentation.
• Mentor and develop staff by fostering a positive, collaborative, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements

EDUCATION

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred)
• Food Safety Certification or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire (Preferred)
• Hospitality Management coursework or certification (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Required)
• Hotel housekeeping experience: 2 years (Required)
• Management or leadership experience: 2 years (Required)
• Customer service experience: 2 years (Required)
• Experience with hotel property management systems and housekeeping software (Preferred)
