About the Executive Office:

The Executive Office plays an integral role in setting and advancing Goldman Sachs’s corporate strategy, and in preserving the firm’s distinctive culture. The Executive Office is responsible for safeguarding the firm’s relationship with alumni, clients, shareholders, policy makers, and the broader public, while ensuring that Goldman Sachs’s own people remain informed about the firm’s evolving priorities. The Executive Office also partners with the firm’s businesses to source high-impact opportunities in line with the firm’s social and sustainability agendas.  

The Office of Government and Regulatory Affairs:

The Office of Government and Regulatory Affairs promotes constructive relations with governments and regulators, and supports the firm’s public policy agenda.

Responsibilities: 

  • Work across verticals in the Office of Government and Regulatory Affairs, supporting the firm's legislative engagement, regulatory, and small business advocacy efforts.  
  • Help to establish Goldman Sachs as a thought leader in the financial services and small business spaces by executing and promoting initiatives such as 10,000 Small Business Voices, which helps alumni of the firm’s 10,000 Small Businesses program advocate for policy changes that positively impact their businesses and communities. 
  • Cultivate relationships with key internal and external stakeholders in the northeastern region of the U.S., including 10,000 Small Businesses alumni, congressional offices, consultants, and teams within Goldman Sachs.
  • Collaborate across the executive office and external partners to deliver events, develop surveys, research, and newsletters that inform and amplify the firm’s small business and overall policy initiatives. 
  • Prepare briefing memos and brief senior executives and stakeholders for engagement with policymakers across legislative and regulatory bodies both in the U.S. and internationally
  • Follow and analyze policy issues as they advance through governmental bodies and work with internal partners to determine the impact to the firm.
  • Organize and drive strategy for managing data and impact metrics on behalf of the Office of Government and Regulatory Affairs, including in Salesforce, Excel, Quorum, and third-party advocacy platforms.  

Requirements: 

  • Strong understanding of the key public policy issues, processes, and challenges facing Goldman Sachs and small business community.
  • Have demonstrated experience working in advocacy, government affairs, political campaigns, congressional offices, or related roles.  Experience covering policy is a plus.
  • The successful candidate is a highly-motivated individual who proactively takes ownership of their portfolios and works effectively in both independent and team settings. 
  • Possess high-energy, and be a strategic thinker with exceptional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Quorum, and Salesforce.
  • Office-based in DC, with occasional travel required. 
  • An undergraduate degree is required.

 

Salary Range 
The expected base salary for this Washington, DC, United States-based position is $100000-$160000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
