Job Summary
This position is eligible for a $150 (taxable) hiring bonus.
**New employees selected from this vacancy announcement will receive $50 after 30 days on the job
and an additional $100 after 60 days on the job.

Major Duties
Assists Store Manager in operations of a retail activity. May oversee operation of a small retail activity with 1-3 employees. Assists and services customers with location, selection and purchase of merchandise. Merchandises, displays and maintains appearance of assigned area(s). Ensures items are properly marked. Operates a cash register, receives payments, makes change, bags or wraps merchandise, approves refunds and voided transactions and completes related sales records. Prepares written sales slips as appropriate, verifies personal checks and credit cards. Orders, receives and maintains sufficient stock to meet daily commercial sales requirements. Moves receipted material to assigned areas of location for stocking. Advises supervisor of damages, out-of-stock and/or slow moving merchandise. Assists Manager daily to open or close activity. Performs opening and closing procedures on EPOS terminal, verifies daily cash receipts, change funds, compiles and fills out daily data entry and accounting forms, solves customer and employee problems. May meet with direct delivery vendors to place orders from commercial items for stock, maintains and stocks merchandise on sales floor. Assists in inventories, by counting all types and quantit ies of merchandise items during inventory. Recounts and searches storage locations to assist in determining basis for over/short or misplaced items. Ensures proper accountability and security of assigned area(s). May complete money orders, invoices and other paperwork. May accept merchandise sales for layaway and Deferred Payment Plan (DPP). May perform general housekeeping duties such as cleaning or dusting fixtures and merchandise. May sort and replenish merchandise. May maintain contact with buyers on customer needs and stock level of merchandise.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
One year experience overseeing operation of a small retail establishment. Must be familiar with business mathematics and merchandising methods. Skill to operate cash register and handle large sums of money accurately. Skill to process daily activity paperwork. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.

1. Furnish a copy of the PCS orders with reporting date to the new duty station and authorized move with spouse. If the spouse is not listed on the PCS orders, the spouse must provide documentation (i.e. marriage certificate, valid military ID, etc.) verifying marriage prior to PCS orders (must have been married to the military sponsor before relocation to the new duty station).
