About this role
Amtrak connects businesses and communities across the United States through its passenger railroad services. The DT Operational Resilience Analyst Intern supports Post-Incident Analysis, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Operational Resilience activities by coordinating reviews, documenting incident information, tracking corrective actions, and contributing to service reliability and process improvement.
What you'll do:
- Assist in coordinating Post-Incident Analysis (PIA) activities for major and high-impact incidents
- Document incident timelines, business impacts, contributing factors, and lessons learned
- Support the collection and validation of data required for Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reviews
- Track corrective and preventive action items and monitor progress toward completion
- Maintain PIA records, documentation repositories, dashboards, and reporting materials
What they're looking for:
- Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution
- Must be actively pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, and Systems Engineering
- Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher
- Basic understanding of IT infrastructure, applications, networks, and enterprise technology environments
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills with the ability to investigate problems and identify patterns
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams)
- Ability to collect, analyze, and document information from multiple stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
