About this role
American Enterprise Institute is a leading think tank focused on research and policy analysis. The Asian Security and Technology intern will conduct research in support of Fellow Ryan Fedasiuk, focusing on US defense policy and security issues in the Indo-Pacific.
What you'll do:
- Monitoring key developments in critical technology sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and rare earths
- Researching Military-Civil Fusion in China and the US defense innovation system
- Compiling sources in English and Chinese
- Collecting and organizing data
What they're looking for:
- A demonstrated interest in Asian security and technology
- Research experience in technology policy or related internship experience
- Close attention to detail
- The ability to work independently
- A positive attitude
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Competitive candidates will generally have a GPA of 3.5 or higher from a top-ranking college or university
- Working proficiency in Mandarin is helpful but not required
- Candidates who are able to participate in the program on an in-person basis for 25-40 hours per week are encouraged to apply
