Family Office Accounting Internship - Summer 2027 - San Jose

Frank, Rimerman + Co. LLP is seeking motivated and collaborative summer interns to join its growing Family Office practice. The intern will support client accounting and financial management activities, including accounts payable, reconciliations, transaction categorization, cash-flow monitoring, financial reporting, and special projects.

What you'll do:

• Process AP for multiple clients using different accounting systems
• Reconcile vendor statements and research discrepancies
• Categorize bank and credit card transactions and record journal entries
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate any unusual items
• Maintain accurate and timely financial information as well as process monthly, quarterly and year end close
• Assist in monitoring client cash flows
• Reconcile and analyze bank/brokerage accounts as well as private equity and hedge fund capital statements
• Provide support on special projects and additional duties when needed

What they're looking for:

• • Enrolled in a Bachelor's and/or Master's program with a concentration in accounting
• • At least one accounting course completed to be considered for an interview
• • On track to complete a minimum of three accounting courses prior to the internship program
• • Minimum GPA of 3.2, with "B" grades or above in accounting courses and a higher major GPA preferred
• • Final graduation date with academic requirements for California CPA licensure eligibility between December 2027 and July 2028
• • Demonstrates clear, professional written and oral communication
• The position may require participation in offsite events and activities that involve extended periods of standing and walking for distances of up to two miles
• The position may also require extended periods of sitting and the ability to transport a company-provided laptop and other work-related materials weighing up to 10 pounds
• Applicants must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Internship applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
• Higher major GPA preferred
