FastLane Product Associate, DoW

Fortress Information Security is hiring a FastLane Product Associate, DoW, for its Product team. The associate will own product projects from research through delivery and support customer discovery, requirements development, product analysis, prototyping, and collaboration with engineering teams and Department of War clients. The role focuses on supply chain security, vulnerability management, and compliance.

What you'll do:

• Own defined product projects from research through delivery, with guidance from product managers
• Research customer workflows, regulatory requirements (e.g., NERC CIP, DoD cybersecurity frameworks), and competitor offerings to inform product decisions
• Draft user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for engineering teams
• Analyze product usage, customer feedback, and data sets to identify problems and opportunities
• Build prototypes, mockups, or automations using approved AI and low-code tools to test ideas quickly
• Participate in sprint ceremonies, backlog grooming, and roadmap discussions
• Prepare clear written and presented summaries of findings for product leadership and cross-functional partners
• Support customer-facing activities such as demos, discovery calls, and pilot programs
• Other duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Entry-level: 0–1 year of experience in product, software, data, or a related field (internships, co-ops, and academic projects count)
• Comfortable using AI tools for research, writing, analysis, and prototyping, and able to judge output quality and use approved tools responsibly per Fortress policy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to learn new tools, domains, and workflows quickly
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance if required for assigned projects (U.S. citizenship is required for clearance eligibility)
• Bachelor's Degree Required
• Coursework or experience in engineering, computer science, information systems, business, or a related field
• Prior internship, project, or leadership experience involving product, software, or data work
• Interest in cybersecurity, national security, or critical infrastructure protection
• Familiarity with agile development, Jira, or similar tools
• Basic data analysis skills (Excel, SQL, Python, or BI tools)
• Existing security clearance or prior government-related work
