Field Application Engineering Intern (Summer 2027)

HARTING Technology Group is a global supplier of industrial connectivity products and custom solutions. The Field Application Engineering Intern will support Field Application Engineers by providing technical assistance on product applications, customer troubleshooting, technical documentation, designs, presentations, and sales-related activities.

What you'll do:

• Actively participate in gaining understanding of our product line of industrial-grade electrical connectors (their specifications, recommended applications, current and potential customer base)
• Learn how technical consultative sales teams like ours have a focus on “designing-in” real solutions for our customers, and how this team support the “winning process” through developing a comprehensive technical solution and proposal, providing technical support, building a Bill of Materials, and coordinating prototype/sample builds
• Support the creation of technical drawings and documentation per customer requirements
• Assists Engineering in cable assembly and backplane designs. This includes selecting parts, writing assembly procedures and quoting
• Maintain and create technical documentation for customized components (i.e. private label, customized, modified, kitted parts)
• Maintain and create technical presentations and trainings for customers and internal HARTING personnel focused on product specifications, capabilities, and applications
• Support the FAE, Sales and Marketing Teams with activities related to samples, preparation for events, training, certifications and listings
• Other duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering, Master's in Engineering / Business, or MBA
• Knowledge of Microsoft products or equivalent (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
• Experience with 2D / 3D CAD Software a plus
