Field Engineer Intern

Blach Construction Company is a general building contractor and construction manager. The Field Engineer Intern supports the Superintendent and project team with job planning, scheduling, safety, quality control, documentation, budgeting, cost control, field employee management, and customer relationships.

What you'll do:

• Create and manage daily reports
• Manage QA/QC paperwork/tracking
• Review plans and specifications and coordinate between design disciplines
• Develop, track, and maintain job schedule and labor requirements
• Review estimates and subcontractor scopes
• Identify long lead items
• Identify special safety requirements and weather requirements
• Schedule and coordinate subs
• Maintain as-built drawings
• Layout/surveying
• RFI development
• Verify and follow up on permit requirements and required inspections

• Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Ability to train and educate others
• Solid computer skills, especially the Microsoft Office suite, scheduling software (MS Project, P6, or Suretrak), and exposure to project management software (CMiC or similar program)
• Proactive, takes initiative on all projects, possesses a willingness to learn and develop in their professional career
• Problem solver, solutions-oriented
• Location: Northern California (Bay Area)
• Position Status: Summer intern, regular business hours (40 hours a week), non-exempt
