Finance & Accounting Intern - Summer 2027

SpartanNash is a food solutions company that distributes, wholesales, and retails grocery and household goods through a global supply chain network. The Finance & Accounting Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting finance and accounting functions, assisting with departmental operations, reports, process improvements, technology, and special projects during a full-time summer internship.

What you'll do:

• Opportunities to support areas including General Accounting, Gross Profits, Retail Accounting Financial Planning, Financial Services, Tax, and Financial Services
• Assist in daily operations and administrative tasks within the assigned department
• Support the preparation of presentations, reports, and other documentation
• Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance efficiency
• Attend meetings, take notes, and contribute ideas and insights
• Aid in further enhancing department tools, templates and methodologies
• Gain exposure and knowledge on department functionalities
• Develop positive professional relationships across departments
• Complete special projects as assigned by your manager
• Complete an end-of-internship presentation to showcase the completion of learning objectives
• Utilize and receive training on current technologies used including Oracle Fusion, Excel, and Smartview
• Work with a variety of business partners including transportation, operations, IT, procurement, HR etc. that interact with your designated area of Finance

What they're looking for:

• Are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program from an accredited college or university
• In good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0
• Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing at the time of the internship
• Currently majoring in Accounting or Finance related programs
• Have a proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Able to think outside of the box and solve problems
• Able to work both independently and collaboratively
• Are organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
• Bring curiosity, initiative and willingness to learn and contribute
• We are not able to sponsor work visas for this position
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 suite of products preferred
