FINANCIAL ANALYST

The City of Chicago is seeking a Financial Analyst for the Grants Section of the Chicago Department of Aviation. The role involves performing complex financial analysis of fiscal data, maintaining grant tracking tools, and assisting with various financial reporting and compliance activities.

What you'll do:

• Maintain internal grant tracking tools to monitor budgets, milestones, deadlines, and documentation
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual reports (e.g., SF-425, DBE reports, grant narratives)
• Support the review and reconciliation of invoices for reimbursement submission
• Help compile documentation packages for drawdown submissions and audit readiness
• Maintain organized digital and physical files for each active grant, ensuring retention compliance
• Support the research and development of application materials, including gathering data and attachments for proposals when needed
• Track grant terms and assist with closeout processes under the direction of the Grants Administration Supervisor
• Additional duties may be required for this position

What they're looking for:

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree or higher, in Finance, Accounting, or a directly related field
• One (1) year of work experience in the analysis of financial records
• The candidate selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA)
• Proficiency in Excel and Power BI
