Financial Analyst I

DuPage County is seeking a Financial Analyst I to support its Finance Department. The role gathers and analyzes financial data, assists with budgeting and forecasting, prepares reports and presentations, monitors spending against budgets, and supports financial administration and budget system maintenance.

What you'll do:

• Gathers, compiles, organizes and documents relevant financial information
• Analyzes, consolidates and interprets financial data
• Assists with the preparation of budgets, including trend analysis and forecasting
• Assists in the preparation of detailed reports and presentations for review by all levels of management
• Monitors actual results of financial data against plans, forecasts and budgets
• Consolidates a wide range of operating and financial projections for the development of both short-term and long-term business plans
• Reviews, evaluates and recommends revisions to departmental expenditures for conformance to budgeted amounts
• Reviews resolutions and committee agenda for financial commitments
• Reviews County-wide spending and advise Departments/Elected Officials on need for budget transfers; process County-wide budget transfers and appropriations
• Verifies, prepares and reviews daily deposit sheets for various functions within County departments
• Prepares departmental invoices
• Prepares various reports and studies as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
• Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met
