Financial Analyst I

University of Florida is seeking a Financial Analyst I to assist with data analysis and reporting for financial planning. The role involves analyzing financial statements, preparing reports, and participating in budgeting and forecasting activities.

What you'll do:

• Assists with analysis of current and historical accounting data and other information to make projections for use in short- and long-range financial planning
• Analyzes financial statements and prepares and analyzes financial reports to represent current and projected financial status
• Participates in projecting future trends and preparing operational forecasts and cash flow analysis
• Studies economic and business trends
• Assists with the preparation of reports which summarize and forecast business activity and financial performance in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected outcomes
• Review monthly budget versus actuals variance report and data
• Investigate data discrepancies and report findings to Assistant Directors
• Assist with pulling data and compiling reports for IFA unit reviews
• May include spot checking unit(s) finances to check for negative balances and accurate programmatic distributions
• Conduct audits of faculty administration, teaching, research, and extension appointments to check for accuracy in payroll distributions
• Assists in year-end audits and in ensuring the accuracy of accounting data
• Compiles data and reports for IFAS Fee for Service Activities and conducts audits annually to ensure revenue and expenses are review and approved

• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
• Proficiency with Microsoft TEAMS, Word, Excel, and PowerBI
• Attention to detail
• Proficiency with Enterprise Analytics
