Financial Analyst, Rates

TC Energy is a leader in North American energy infrastructure, seeking a motivated Regulatory Analyst for their U.S. Rates and Regulatory Department. This role focuses on financial analysis and the design of interstate natural gas transportation and storage rates, providing critical support to the U.S. Natural Gas business.

What you'll do:

• Develop and update Excel models to analyze volume and cost data, allocate costs between various service types, in order to design transmission and storage rates for various service types
• Develop and update financial spreadsheet models as well as projects eligible for inclusion in a Modernization program
• Provide research and analysis on financial and regulatory projects. Prepare and present summary of analyses
• Work within an integrated team to drive and execute on pipeline rate making strategy
• Assist in the preparation of filings to be submitted to regulatory agencies. Requires ability to conduct research and apply findings to company-specific initiatives
• Position will assist with representation of pipeline assets in rate & modernization proceedings

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, environmental studies, law, or a related field
• 0-3 years of relevant experience (Internship experience will be considered)
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and functions such as VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and data validation, along with strong written communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines
• Proven ability to build and maintain stakeholder relationships to support strategic execution
• Experience developing solutions to complex regulatory or project-related challenges
• Prior experience in the regulated pipeline industry and/or working knowledge of FERC regulations is strongly preferred
