Financial Planning & Analysis Intern - Summer 2027

BAE Systems is a defense, aerospace, and security company. The Financial Planning & Analysis Intern will support the Space Systems FP&A team with financial reporting, budget analysis, forecasting, process improvement, and financial metrics. The intern will also present project findings to management and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.

What you'll do:

• Assist with weekly financial reporting and analysis
• Support budget variance analysis and prepare for budget revisions
• Contribute to the quarterly reforecast process
• Help standardize processes and documentation
• Aid in improving financial understanding within the finance team and across the business
• Ensure all work adheres to ethical standards and company policies
• Prepare and present final project findings to management, including a written report and verbal presentation
• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment
• Perform other duties as necessary

What they're looking for:

• Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2027
• We will also accept students enrolled in a graduate degree program
• Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to present detailed financial analysis clearly
• Must handle sensitive and proprietary information confidentially
• Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred
• Preferred knowledge in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, Financial Modeling, and Excel
