Financial Reporting Intern, Fall 2026

RWE Americas is a US-based energy company focused on meeting the growing demand for energy across the United States. They are seeking a Financial Reporting Intern to support the Financial Reporting team with financial reporting processes, audit support, and documentation improvements while gaining hands-on experience in the renewable energy industry.

What you'll do:

• Support the accounting and financial reporting teams in the preparation, review, and optimization of financial reporting models
• Enhance Workiva model automation and process efficiency
• Assist in assembling, editing, and standardizing documentation of financial reporting processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity throughout all deliverables
• Collaborate effectively with team members to collect accounting information for audit support, external auditor inquiries, and ad hoc requests related to financial statements
• Develop and expand knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards and the renewable energy sector

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Accounting or Finance at an accredited US university program
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
• Ability to work onsite in Chicago, IL throughout the summer program
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States. RWE Americas is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time
• Demonstrated experience in data analysis and optimization to streamline data processing and enhance accuracy and efficiency is a plus
