Firmware Engineering Internship (6-month Program)

Microsoft is seeking a Firmware Engineer Intern to work at the intersection of hardware and software. The role focuses on developing, testing, and debugging embedded firmware for networking, devices, platforms, and datacenter systems in collaboration with cross-functional engineering teams.

What you'll do:

• Designs, develops, and debugs embedded software in C/C++ that implements the data plane & control plane for Layer 2-7 networking
• Implements firmware features based on product and system requirements in collaboration with cross-functional engineering partners
• Contributes to developer tests and system-level testing to ensure software quality and reliability

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Must have at least one additional quarter/semester of school remaining following the completion of the internship
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field AND 1+ years technical engineering experience
• Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Equivalent experience
