Food Pantry Student Assistant II

Qualifications

• Must encompass respect towards student privacy and a sensitivity of food insecurity issues.
• A willingness to carry out all duties to support the Food Pantry’s vision
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability and willingness to perform manual labor to carry out food pantry duties
• May lift items up to 15 pounds
• Must be able to interact effectively with students, staff, and donators
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Must be self-motivated
• Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and practice anonymity
• Familiar with Google Drive and Gmail

Duties

Duties are expected to be performed in a manner which respects privacy and with a sensitivity to the food insecurity issues.

• Primary duty is to carry out responsibilities for the Food Pantry. The Food Pantry is an on campus student service addressing food insecurity within the student body. The purpose is to remove this stressor for students in need so that their focus and efforts may be better applied towards their education at Leeward Community College.
• Receiving applications, organizing documents in the Google Drive and logging participants activity
• Receiving and storing donations that includes managing storage space and issuing of food items to students on pre-set dates
• Serve as central point of contact for students participating in the Food Pantry.
• Perform office functions such as checking email, answering calls pertaining to Food Pantry and writing acknowledgments for donators
• Other assigned duties.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, flexible
