About this role
The Peacock Inn is part of Genesis Global Group, and they are seeking a For-Credit Merchandising Intern for Fall 2026. The intern will assist the Director of Business Development with project-based work focused on product development, design, and management within the hospitality and retail sectors.
What you'll do:
- Assist with the conceptualization, branding, manufacturing and merchandising of new line of retail products for French bakery owned by Genesis Hospitality
- Research market and competitor pricing; provide insights to Director of Business Development to assist with marketing and pricing strategy
- Track inventory of products
- Work with the Business Development team to analyze sales and inventory reports; utilize insights to determine opportunities for improvement
- Create and update training manual for bakery employees, which provides breakdown and detail of products
- Coordinate with Marketing department to develop branding and advertising of products and displays
- Assist with planning retail area layout to attract customers’ attention, highlight new products and create a positive and easy shopping experience for customers
- Participate in meetings with international vendors
- Performs other similar or related duties as required or assigned
What they're looking for:
- Must be a current student in an accredited college
- Must be pursuing a major in Business Administration, International Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or similar major for which internship would be accepted for academic credit
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required
- Must possess a professional, polished image through in-person and phone interaction
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Well-developed and multi-tasking, organizational skills, and detailed-oriented
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment and work well under stress
- Ability to handle sensitive information and keep strictly confidential
- Chinese language skills are a plus, but not required
