Forensic Accountant

Guidepost Solutions is seeking an entry-level Forensic Accountant to support senior forensic accountants on audits, investigations, compliance programs, construction monitoring, and litigation matters. The role involves analyzing financial records and data, preparing reports and exhibits, participating in interviews and site visits, and collaborating with attorneys, investigators, and other subject matter experts.

What you'll do:

• Assist with forensic accounting investigations involving fraud, corruption, financial misconduct, asset misappropriation, and other irregularities
• Review and analyze financial records, including general ledgers, bank statements, invoices, contracts, payroll records, expense reports, and supporting documentation
• Perform financial transaction testing, reconciliations, and data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risk indicators
• Assist in drafting client reports and preparing supporting schedules, tables, exhibits, charts, and other presentation materials
• Support litigation, arbitration, and dispute-related matters through document review, financial analysis, and preparation of exhibits and schedules
• Assist with construction monitoring engagements through review of budgets, invoices, draw requests, change orders, project expenditures, and supporting documentation
• Participate in client meetings, interviews, site visits, and fieldwork, as needed
• Work collaboratively with attorneys, investigators, compliance professionals, research analysts, and other subject matter experts on client engagements
• Maintain organized workpapers and supporting documentation in accordance with firm standards and professional practices
• Utilize Excel and other analytical tools to organize, reconcile, and evaluate large datasets

What they're looking for:

• Strong technical accounting background
• Understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and audit procedures
• Ability to communicate effectively in written reports and oral presentations
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within cross-functional teams
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics and/or 0-2 years of Accounting, Finance and/or consulting experience
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Proficiency utilizing Copilot
• Candidates pursuing CPA licensure and/or CFE designation is a plus
• Fluency in one or more foreign languages is a plus
