Forward Deployed AI Engineer - Intern

Charta Health is building an AI platform that streamlines critical workflows across revenue cycle, clinical operations, and administrative functions for healthcare organizations. The Forward Deployed AI Engineer Intern will build and deploy AI-driven solutions, collaborate directly with healthcare providers, and contribute to scalable platforms, data pipelines, infrastructure, and AI workflows.

What you'll do:

• Collaborate closely with healthcare clients to understand their workflows and identify opportunities to leverage AI and machine learning
• Customize and deploy Charta Health's AI-driven platforms to address specific client needs
• Rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions, adapting to client feedback and evolving requirements
• Break down complex projects into actionable steps and deliver results in ambiguous environments
• Explore and integrate a wide range of AI/ML technologies, adapting to the diverse needs of our clients
• Provide technical expertise and support to clients, ensuring successful deployment and adoption of our solutions
• Work closely with our internal engineering team to provide feedback and contribute to product development
• Design, build, and improve core platform systems that power analyses, data pipelines, and AI workflows across all customers
• Contribute to scalable infrastructure and tooling that make deployments faster, more reliable, and easier to maintain
• Help define internal engineering standards, abstractions, and reusable components that turn one-off solutions into durable product capabilities
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML and apply them alongside strong software engineering practices

What they're looking for:

• • Proficiency and practical coding skills (Python and TypeScript), with a focus on delivering tangible results
• • Solid understanding of common algorithms and data structures (e.g., arrays, linked lists, trees, hash tables) and practical ability to select and implement them appropriately
• • Experience systematically isolating and diagnosing issues within code, leveraging debugging tools, log analysis, and stack traces effectively
• • Ability to efficiently navigate unfamiliar codebases, understand architectural patterns, and contribute quickly to existing projects
