About this role
The University System of Georgia, through Kennesaw State University, is seeking an apprentice to support its Cash Management Pool. The role assists with portfolio monitoring, investment research, trade preparation, market analysis, liquidity strategy evaluation, and preparation of investment committee materials while gaining exposure to investment governance and portfolio oversight.
What you'll do:
- Reviews weekly holdings, monitors duration, tracks issuer concentration and credit quality, monitors liquidity, and identifies reinvestment opportunities
- Organizes trade orders for execution, prepares summaries of proposed trades with rationale and impact on the portfolio, and provides comparisons across short-term instruments to support decisions
- Reviews OCIO pitch decks and short-term liquidity recommendations to summarize, highlight actionable ideas for the KSUF cash portfolio, and assist in evaluating externally managed liquidity strategies
- Monitors market interest rates, follows Federal Reserve policy and front-end yield movement to develop recommendations, and provides weekly short-term market commentary with investment recommendations
- Maintains weekly cash portfolio dashboards for yield, duration, maturities, and credit exposure, prepares investment committee materials and summary reports, and maintains issuer lists and documentation of trades and portfolio decisions

- Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines
- Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
- Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem-solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management, and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
- Current and active member of KSU SMIF
