About this role
Shure is a global manufacturer of audio equipment and technology. The FPGA Development Intern will support FPGA design and implementation across architecture, HDL coding, synthesis, verification, and testing, while collaborating with a cross-functional team on wireless communication and audio products.
What you'll do:
- The FPGA Design Engineering Intern will help develop and implement FPGA designs under the direction of a senior staff member
- In this position you will gain exposure to the FPGA development cycle: architecture, HDL entry, synthesis, place and route, verification and test-benching
- You will also perform system level and FPGA tests on circuit boards utilized in wireless communication systems
- This job requires you to work as part of a cross-functional development team to design and implement cutting edge audio products and technology
- The job requires you to estimate, organize and document development tasks, practice solid design methodologies and procedures, and other duties as assigned
- Participate in all phases of FPGA development, including:
- Architecture design
- HDL (Hardware Description Language) coding
- Synthesis
- Place and route
- Verification
- Testbench creation and debugging
What they're looking for:
- The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students
- This Internship will be Hybrid or Onsite in Niles, IL
- Must have completed two years of coursework in Electrical Engineering or related area
- Basic understanding of FPGA development cycle and familiarity with VHDL or Verilog
- Experience with FPGA tools Xilinx Vivado or Intel Quartus
- Knowledge of digital logic circuits, embedded controllers, DSP concepts and memory types
- Experience with Python programming language
- Basic knowledge of audio or wireless communications
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Quality conscious
