About this role

Miami HEAT is hiring an entry-level Front-End Web Developer for its marketing department. The role maintains and optimizes HEAT.com and KaseyaCenter.com, including content updates, accessibility, performance, and AI search visibility, and supports development of reusable code and webpage features.

What you'll do:

  • Routine Maintenance & Content Updates: Perform daily content updates, publish new content and events, refresh landing page assets, and maintain site accuracy across HEAT.com and KaseyaCenter.com
  • AI Search & SEO Visibility: Implement and maintain technical metadata, schema markup, and content structure to optimize website content for AI search visibility and generative answer engines
  • Accessibility Compliance: Continuously monitor and audit web pages to ensure full accessibility and ADA compliance
  • Site Upkeep & Quality Assurance: Test and debug existing site code, monitor web performance, and verify site functionality across mobile and desktop environments
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional marketing teams and handle additional operational responsibilities as directed by the Web Manager/Developer
  • Web Development: Assist the Web Manager/Developer with building reusable code snippets and assembling new webpage layouts or user-facing features as needed

What they're looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or a related field, along with experience in routine website maintenance and front-end development support
  • Proficient understanding of WordPress CMS and daily content administration
  • Working knowledge of web markup (HTML5, CSS3) and utility frameworks like Tailwind CSS
  • Working knowledge of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, with an emphasis on React and Next.js client-side architectures (e.g., client components, client-side data fetching and state caching with libraries like SWR, URL state management, and interactive UI components)
  • Foundational understanding of JSON-LD schema implementation, semantic HTML, and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) / AI Search principles
  • Experience using browser developer tools to diagnose page rendering issues, broken layout styles, or console errors on mobile and desktop platforms
  • Familiarity with tracking URL parameter structures and third-party ticketing platforms
  • Solid grasp of NBA basketball and Miami HEAT franchise history
  • Hands-on experience managing digital content and site updates for sports or live events
