What you get to do:

You will be responsible for overseeing the scenic & theming entertainment technician team, assisting in the preparation, execution and tear down of events. You will also:

  • Execute the production process for park-wide event product.
  • Identify materials needed and work with procurement to place orders for replacement items as well as new product.
  • Collaborate with Entertainment Production/Operations, Theatrical Services, Park Operations and Maintenance teams to achieve project goals and objectives, including all event technical production elements, piece inventory, repair, refurbishment, install, and strike as it pertains to the areas of event lighting, FX, audio, scenic, and theming.
  • Responsible for maintaining event organization of all storage locations pre and post event installation and strike.
  • Supervise the quality assurance of event product and support areas.
  • Work with Theatrical Services and Maintenance to schedule additional resources to assist with technical repairs and refurbishments as well with the installation and strike of each event to ensure smooth and successful execution.
  • Will be required to create, update, & maintain technical archives for each event.
  • Supervise the Events and Festivals team training programs.
  • Actively participate and lead team while providing excellent internal and external guest service.
  • Oversee repairs needed while event is operational. Maintain integrity of event.
  • Oversee safety as it pertains to SEA Best Practices and Rigging Standards and all other relevant industry guidelines.
  • Responsible for labor management, including but not limited to, creating, and maintaining line schedules, hiring, team member performance development, monitoring labor budgets, and ensuring accuracy in payroll.

What it takes to succeed:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Theme park experience preferred, but not required
  • College degree or equivalent experience within Technical Production required.
  • Must have a minimum of two (2) years professional technical experience and working knowledge within the areas of lighting, audio, scenic, overhead scenic rigging, and theming required. Proficiency within one technical area preferred.
  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year leadership experience with no significant performance deficiencies within that period or equivalent external experience required.
  • Two (2) years professional Entertainment or Theme Park experience preferred.
  • Must be capable of and comfortable working at heights up to over 100’ (catwalks, boom lifts, man lifts, etc.).

What else is important:

  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs
  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift
  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)
  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals
  • Must be willing to comply with all organization grooming guidelines and employment standards
  • Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat
  • Must provide flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays)
  • Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations
  • Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines
