As a Full Stack Product Engineer at EXL, Payment Services, you'll independently build, deploy, and support secure, scalable web applications that solve critical challenges in the US healthcare payment space. Responsibilities

  • Independently own the full stack, from front-end and service layers to backend, data, and reporting.

  • Build and support enterprise-grade web applications using modern stacks: React, .NET Core, Python, APIs, SQL Server / PostgreSQL, and SSRS.

  • Develop Python services, data-processing routines, and automation across the application and pipeline layers.

  • Use DuckDB for fast, in-process analytical queries over structured and columnar data, powering reporting, validation, and data-quality checks.

  • Design and maintain structured and unstructured data pipelines (ETL/ELT and document / OCR / NLP ingestion) feeding production workflows.

  • Drive deployment automation, environment readiness, and performance optimization for seamless, zero-disruption releases.

  • Own and optimize the CI/CD pipeline across hybrid (Azure, AWS, on-premise) ecosystems, keeping assets secure, testable, and auditable.

  • Tune and optimize queries for performance, reliability, and reporting accuracy in high-volume environments.

  • Translate business needs into secure, scalable technical architectures, embedding data protection and compliance by design.

  • Resolve high-priority production incidents with precision, ensure zero-downtime operations, and proactively prevent recurrence.

You're not just shipping code. You're building high-impact platforms that touch lives, ensure compliance, and power payer operations.

  • Deliver healthcare solutions that work at scale, with reliability, speed, and security built in.

  • Own production performance metrics and implement observability across app layers, APIs, and data-ingestion points.

  • Collaborate deeply with product managers, QA, and business analysts to ship features that are user-friendly and technically sound.

  • Own multiple product modules and pipelines simultaneously, balancing delivery with quality and continuous improvement.

  • Apply strong design patterns, architecture principles, and agile delivery to accelerate time-to-market.

  • Proactively remove roadblocks, anticipate risks, and communicate mitigation plans clearly to stakeholders.

Collaborative Interactions:

  • Internal: Partner with data engineers, DevOps, business analysts, client-service teams, and tech leads. Share knowledge, mentor teammates, and grow technical depth across the team.

  • External: Engage with client-side stakeholders and, on occasion, executive teams to understand expectations, demo capabilities, and bridge business needs with technical delivery.

Qualifications

Hands on Technical Experience with:

  • .NET Core 8 / C# / ASP.NET and/or Python (FastAPI / Flask) service development

  • React (Hooks, Context, Redux/RTK), TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+)

  • SQL Server / PostgreSQL, stored procedures, query and performance tuning

  • HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, component libraries, state management

  • REST/GraphQL API consumption, client-side performance and accessibility

  • RESTful & GraphQL API design, microservices, API gateways

  • Authentication/authorization (OAuth2, JWT), service-to-service messaging, caching

  • Python for backend services, data processing, and automation

  • DuckDB for fast in-process analytical queries over structured and columnar data

  • ORM (Entity Framework / SQLAlchemy / NHibernate), schema design, migrations

  • Structured pipelines (ETL/ELT) and unstructured pipelines (document / OCR / NLP ingestion)

  • DuckDB + Python (pandas / Polars / Arrow) for analytical workloads and local data crunching

  • Databricks / Spark exposure for large-scale processing

  • CI/CD with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or AWS CodePipeline

  • Version control (Git / Azure DevOps), automated testing, release automation

  • Containerization with Docker; cloud deployment on AWS or Azure

  • SSRS / SSIS, Power BI, dashboarding and reporting accuracy in high-volume environments

Nice to Have:

  • OCR & claims tech (Esker, 3M, DTKBarcode), AI/ML-enhanced workflows, LLM/NLP integration

  • US Healthcare payer / Payment Integrity domain exposure; agile certifications

  • US Healthcare Insurance / Payer & Payment Integrity context (preferred)

  • Strong ownership, end-to-end accountability, and production-first mindset

Education Requirements:

  • Master's or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent experience.

  • US Healthcare certifications a plus.
