Full Stack Software Engineer, Junior

Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Junior Full Stack Software Engineer to support its Wargaming and Modeling & Simulations team. The role involves developing and maintaining frontend and backend web applications, APIs, data integrations, testing, deployment, automation, and technical documentation using technologies such as Python, modern frontend frameworks, databases, and Git.

What you'll do:

• The engineer will contribute across the application stack, including user interfaces, backend services, data integration, testing, and deployment
• Work with users and technical team members to understand requirements and build practical software solutions
• Develop and maintain web applications across frontend and backend components
• Build backend services, APIs, and application logic using Python
• Develop user interfaces using modern frontend frameworks and languages and integrate applications with databases, APIs, and other data sources
• Write, test, debug, and maintain reliable software
• Other responsibilities include using Git and collaborative software development workflows, researching unfamiliar technical problems and evaluating new tools and approaches, and contributing to application deployment, automation, and technical documentation

What they're looking for:

• 1+ years of experience with software development
• Experience programming with Python
• Experience building applications with a modern frontend framework or web development technology
• Experience with object-oriented programming, software testing, and dependency or package management
• Experience with databases and SQL
• Experience with Git and source control
• Ability to independently research technical problems
• Ability to learn new languages, frameworks, and technologies
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or Engineering field
• Experience building full-stack applications through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional work
• Experience programming with frontend languages or frameworks such as JavaScript, TypeScript, React, or similar modern web technologies
