Garage Diesel Mechanic

Description

In this role, the successful candidate will perform truck repair and maintenance work in accordance with factory and industry standards, run diagnostics on vehicles and work closely with other team members to meet company goals. Pay $23.00 - $25.00 per hour according to qualifications

General Responsibilities:

Perform minor repairs and assist with major repairs on trucks, trailers, forklifts, buses, skid steer loaders and diesel locomotives.

Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trucks, including inspection, tire rotation and oil changes.

Maintain parts inventory and cleanliness in the shop.

Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs.

Perform electrical diagnostics on 12 & 32 -volt dc systems. 

Maintain accurate records of repairs performed on vehicles.

Qualifications:

5+ years’ experience as a Mechanic or in a mechanical maintenance type field either commercial or industrial.

Must provide/supply all necessary hand tools.

Must have general knowledge of a computer and be able to navigate through  maintenance database software programs.

Must have a general knowledge of hydraulics. 

Experience in Parts and Warehouse inventory control is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.

Excellent reading and writing skills.

Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
