About this role
I. Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-orientated Gas Scheduler to join our Gas Trading and Operations team. The Natural Gas Scheduler will support daily scheduling activities, monitor pipeline operations, communicate with counterparties, and help ensure the reliable and efficient movement of natural gas across multiple interstate pipelines. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail is critical. The successful candidate will be a key contributor and lead discussions on impactful news and events that affect differentiated gas markets in North America and abroad, the WMRE portfolio of assets and the commercial strategy in general. Emphasizing teamwork, collaboration, independent thought leadership with and through insightful and contextual input into commercial opportunities are crucial qualities for success in this position.
II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with daily natural gas scheduling activities across multiple interstate pipelines.
- Nominate, confirm, and monitor natural gas volumes using pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs)
- Coordinate with traders, producers, marketers, utilities, and pipeline operators to ensure timely gas deliveries.
- Monitor Pipeline notices, operational flow orders (OFOs), maintenance events, and capacity constraints.
- Track imbalances, meter data, and daily gas flows to identify operational issues.
- Maintain accurate scheduling records and documentation inside internal ETRM system.
- Support month-end close activities, invoice validation, and volume reconciliation.
- Independently provide insightful information on commercial opportunities based on macro and micro market trends, current news, and reliable sources.
III. Qualifications
A. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (accredited) or in lieu of a degree
- High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of relevant work experience
- 1 year relevant experience (in addition to education requirement)
B. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a startup-like, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong teamwork and self-motivation skills.
