JOB TITLE:                                                General Day Custodian
START DATE:                                            Immediately
FLSA CLASSIFICATION:                        Non-exempt, hourly employee.
WORK DAYS:                                            260 days (per calendar year)
STANDARD HOURS PER DAY:              8 Hours per day
WORK YEAR:                                            12-month position (260 days)
SALARY SCHEDULE & BENEFITS:      See salary Schedule & Benefits Schedule A
REPORTS TO:                                            Head Custodian or current supervisor
RATE:                                                          $17.88 when permanently hired through TSC

Requirements

Responsibilities:
1. Open building
2. Mail and flag duties.
3. Checking and spot cleaning air handler rooms and boilers rooms
4. Dust mopping hard floors.
5. Touch-up entries as needed.
6. Touch-up restroom and fill supplies as needed.
7. Keeping hallways free of trash.
8. Cleaning up vomit and spills as needed.
9. Receiving and delivering items to designated departments.
10. Assigned area to clean on daily basis.
11. Daily cafeteria clean-up (ability to lift heavy tables).
12. Set-ups & clean-ups for school events.
13. Empty and clean outside trash cans.
14. Snow & ice removal. Reporting to work one hour early during a ice or snow event.
15. Mowing, trimming, & grounds maintenance, as directed.
16. Keep water softener filled
17. Any other duties assigned by Principal or Head Custodian
18. Disinfecting building during the day

Qualifications:
1. Excellent attendance record.
2. Good people and organizational skills.
3. Ability to flexible and adapt to change as needed.
4. Willingness to take & follow directions
5. Knowledge & ability to operate mowing equipment.
6. Ability to climb a ladder and lift 50 lbs
7. Honesty, Integrity and good work ethic
8. Self-motivated, high energy person who takes pride their work.
9. Good knowledge & skills in cleaning techniques and products.
10. Some mechanical abilities or willingness to learn.

Physical Requirements: Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, with greater emphasis on climbing and balancing, but typically also involving some combination of stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, and the lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials (20-50 pounds); may occasionally involve heavier objects and materials (up to 100 pounds).
 
Sensory Requirements: Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate odors. Some tasks require the ability to perceive and discriminate depths. Most tasks require visual perception and discrimination.
 
Environmental Factors: Tasks are regularly performed with potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions, such as strong odors, fumes, dusts, wetness, humidity, machinery, vibrations, temperature and noise extremes, disease, pathogenic substances, and toxic/poisonous agents.

Summary

Starting pay for TSC employee with no years’ experience in corporation, $17.88 per hour.
