General Ledger Accountant

Oak Grove Technologies, LLC is a dynamic federal contractor seeking a highly skilled General Ledger Accountant to maintain the accuracy of financial records at their Raleigh, NC office. The role involves supporting financial close activities and ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.

What you'll do:

• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation for review and posting by the Accounting Manager/Controller
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the General Ledger
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting
• Prepare and reconcile monthly Balance Sheet accounts
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts and corporate credit card accounts on a monthly basis
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including asset tracking and depreciation schedules
• Support the preparation of financial statements and other accounting reports
• Assist the Accounting Manager/Controller with semi-monthly payroll processing
• Support external audits and internal compliance reviews by preparing schedules and supporting documentation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and established internal controls
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies
• Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned

What they're looking for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1-2 years of professional accounting experience
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as Unanet, Deltek Costpoint, SAP, or Oracle
• Government contracting experience
• Experience with Unanet or Deltek Costpoint
• Experience with payroll processing and fixed asset accounting
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
