About this role

The University of Chicago’s Department of Surgery, Section of Minimally Invasive Surgery, seeks a full-time Clinical Associate. This is a one-year non-renewable transitional training position for an individual who has completed general surgery residency and seeks additional operative experience and mentorship before independent practice or fellowship. The position provides broad exposure to general surgery, including elective and acute care cases, with graduated autonomy in the operating room and clinic. The practice location for this position will primarily be within the southern suburbs at the UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital and in Hyde Park. This position does not require teaching or scholarly activity. Compensation is dependent upon qualifications. This position is benefits-eligible. The University of Chicago offers a wide range of benefits programs and resources for eligible employees, including health, retirement, and paid time off. Information about the benefit offerings can be found in the Benefits Guidebook.

The University of Chicago Medicine has been at the forefront of medical care since 1927. Located in historic Hyde Park, the primary medical campus includes the Center for Care and Discovery, Comer Children’s Hospital, Bernard A. New ambulatory facilities are located in Orland Park and River East, and the Ingalls Health System has recently been integrated into the network.
