Global Energy Strategy & Analytics Intern

Donaldson is a technology and innovation leader focused on solving complex filtration challenges. The Global Energy Strategy & Analytics Intern will develop analytical tools, evaluate utility and energy data, and support electrification, cost reduction, profitability, carbon reduction, and sustainability strategies across Donaldson's global manufacturing operations.

What you'll do:

• Develop analytical tools and dashboards that help Donaldson understand energy costs and electrification opportunities across its global manufacturing footprint of more than 60 facilities
• Collect and validate utility rate information, including electricity, natural gas, demand charges, and time-of-use pricing structures
• Create a global "Spark Gap" model that compares electricity and natural gas economics to support long-term energy strategy decisions for electrification
• Support integration of utility tariffs into Donaldson's energy monitoring platform to improve visibility into real-time energy costs
• Analyze opportunities for demand management and battery energy storage while helping quantify potential impacts on operating costs, profitability, and carbon emissions

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled undergraduate in an accredited degree program pursuing a bachelor's degree in engineering, data science, physics or mathematics
• Experience using Microsoft Excel, including data visualization, chart creation, and basic formulas
• College-level algebra knowledge acquired through coursework or placement testing
• Qualified candidates must be able to work an on-site schedule at our Bloomington, MN facility
• Applicants for this position must be currently and legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship (e.g., H-1B, J-1, F-1, CPT, OPT, etc.)
• International relocation or remote work arrangements outside of the U.S. will not be considered
• Familiarity with carbon accounting and/or chemistry
• Strong interest in sustainability
• Completion of college-level statistics coursework or equivalent testing credit
• Microsoft Excel experience, including PivotTables
• Minimum 3.0 out of a 4.0 cumulative GPA
