Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in technology sales or working with customers in a sales role.
  • 5 years of experience in the education sector.
  • Experience with AI in education, education technology, or strategy design and implementation.
  • Experience in stakeholder management, working with government officials, or leading multi-stakeholder initiatives.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MPA, MBA, or MA in Education/Policy) or equivalent industry experience.
  • 5 years of experience in education sales, partnerships experience with educational leadership, or strategic consulting within the education sector.
  • Experience navigating complex regulatory environments and building sustainable partnerships in different settings.
  • Proven track record collaborating with state or national Departments of Education to deliver expansive, technology-driven systemic initiatives.
  • Deep understanding of learning science principles and the challenges facing contemporary education systems.
  • Strong communication and consensus-building skills, with the ability to collaborate with stakeholders with conflicting priorities.

The Government and Strategic Engagement Team works directly with state and federal governments in the United States, provincial Ministries of Education in Canada, and other relevant organizations in the education ecosystem, to transform education systems and reimagine teaching and learning with the support of digital technology and AI.

Acting as strategic thought partners, we help leaders create digital transformation roadmaps centered on equity, privacy, security, learning science principles and sustainability. We keep educators at the center of innovation, building antifragile ecosystems that improve learning outcomes and foster long-term human flourishing.

We build trust and demonstrate the true value of Google’s technology stack. By aligning system-level strategy with Google’s capabilities, we lay the essential foundation for Sales, Partnerships, Solutions Engineering and Impact teams to drive lasting, measurable adoption.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $173000 - $251000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate strategic stakeholder partnerships by co-designing system-level transformations with state and federal governments, education ministers, and State Superintendents to reimagine education in the AI era.
  • Articulate Google’s strategic technology stack to align with policy agendas, partnering with Sales and Partnerships to drive scalable, measurable adoption.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of AI, pedagogy, and policy shifts; support GTM teams and differentiate Google’s ecosystem against competitive alternatives.
  • Bridge policy strategy with Engineering, Product, Google Research, DeepMind, Public Policy, and YouTube to tailor partner solutions.
  • Develop executive-level messaging to counter objections and position Google for Education as the preferred choice for digital modernization.
