GPSU Cybersecurity Intern - Application Security

GuidePoint Security provides cybersecurity expertise, solutions, and services that help organizations minimize risk. The GPSU Cybersecurity Intern will support the Application Security Practice through training, hands-on projects, security response exposure, collaborative work, and vendor-led learning while developing cybersecurity skills.

What you'll do:

• Interns will complete in-house training programs, while working on projects to enhance their security knowledge and skills
• Hands-On Technical Development
• Real-World Security Response
• Collaborative Project Work
• Team and Position Shadowing
• Partner-led Vendor Training and Certifications
• Work a majority of hours between 11am-4pm EST Monday through Friday, ranging from 25-29hrs/wk
• Have a personal computing device and access to high-speed internet during working hours

What they're looking for:

• Have a basic understanding of information technology, networking, operating systems and security - resume and application must clearly reflect this knowledge in order to be considered
• Have exposure to one or more programming languages (Python, JavaScript, Java, or similar) and interest in reading and analyzing code
• Have a genuine passion for information security
• Be motivated and eager to learn new skills
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and use AI-enabled tools
• Have demonstrated efforts toward entering cybersecurity, which may include:
• Obtaining certifications
• Attending trainings
• Pursuing a formal education
• Participating in industry organizations
• Contributing to personal or industry projects

• For those who join GuidePoint Security for full-time employment only: remote workforce primarily (U.S. based only; some travel may be required for certain positions, and working on-site may be required for Federal positions)
