About this role

Amgen is a biotechnology company focused on researching, manufacturing, and delivering medicines for serious illnesses. The Graduate Intern will complete a technical Process Development project, analyze and interpret data into meaningful business outcomes, and communicate findings clearly to the team.

What you'll do:

  • With the support of their hiring manager, the PD intern will complete a technical project in one of the following areas: Drug Substance Technologies, Attribute Sciences, Manufacturing and Clinical Supply, Drug Product Technologies, or Combination Product Operations
  • The intern will get the chance to be exposed to scientific and/or business processes within Amgen as well as analyze and interpret data into meaningful, business-influencing outcomes, and then communicate this process to their team in a clear and compelling manner
  • In conjunction with the project work, interns will have the opportunity for professional development through training sessions, an Executive Speaker Series, lab and facilities tours, one-on-one mentoring, and various networking events
  • Interns will also be able to interact with peers at Amgen-sponsored social events

What they're looking for:

  • * Must be available to work a full-time schedule
  • * Expected continued enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship program / co-op
  • * Student must be located in the United States for the duration of the internship program
  • * 18 years or older
  • * Graduated with a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • * Currently enrolled in an MBA program for an MBA internship OR a Master's program for a Master's internship OR a PharmD program for a PharmD internship OR Ph.D. for a PhD internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year of MBA OR Master's OR Pharm D OR Ph.D. program before the internship starts
  • * Currently enrolled in a Master's program for a Master's internship from an accredited college or university and completion of the first year Master's program before the internship starts
  • * Degree concentration(s) in Molecular Biology, Chemical Engineering, OR related discipline
  • * 2-4 years of lab experience
  • * Strong basic lab skills
  • * Ability to learn new experimental methods
  • * Strong attention to detail
