About this role
Skanska is a global construction and development company that builds and maintains communities, infrastructure, and transportation. The Graduate Electrical Engineer will participate in a two-year development programme supporting the delivery of electrical systems for water treatment plants, pumping stations, control systems, and smart water networks. The role includes design support, equipment selection, site surveys, commissioning, documentation, and collaboration with engineering teams, contractors, clients, and supply chain partners.
What you'll do:
- Support the design and delivery of electrical systems including power distribution, automation, and instrumentation
- Assist with the specification and selection of electrical equipment
- Work closely with civil, mechanical, and process engineering teams
- Carry out site surveys, commissioning, and technical inspections
- Support with documentation, reports, and health & safety compliance
- Engage with contractors, clients (e.g. Anglian Water), and supply chain partners throughout project lifecycles
What they're looking for:
- Final-year student or recent graduate in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (BEng or MEng)
- An interest in sustainability, utilities, and infrastructure
- Strong interest in innovation, sustainability, and positive societal impact, demonstrated through collaborative teamwork and proactive problem-solving
- Enthusiastic learner dedicated to personal and professional development
- This role requires visits to sites across the UK, particularly in East Anglia. As such, we would expect you to have a driving licence or work towards obtaining one within your first year of working with us
