Grand Cafe & Outlets Manager

Position Purpose To coordinate the activities of the outlets staff to deliver quality product and service to restaurant customers.

Essential Functions
- Interview, select, train, supervise, counsel, and discipline restaurant staff for the efficient operation of the outlet.
- Organize and conduct pre-shift and departmental meetings.
- Schedule and direct staff in their work assignments.
- Interact positively with customers promoting hotel facilities and services.
- Resolve problems to satisfaction of involved parties.
- Organize special events in the restaurant.
- Maintain rapport with all departments and attend relevant meetings.
- Control reservations in a manner which fully utilizes space but does not affect ability to provide quality service.
- Ensure food quality and service standards are met.
- Maintain profitability of outlet to support overall hotel operation.
- Control payroll and equipment costs.
- Utilize computer to accurately charge customers, create forecast and revenue reports, and write correspondance.
- Support the entire food / beverage operation including supervising other areas if necessary, handling special projects, running promotions, handling public relations and marketing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- Previous F/B management experience required; preferably in a destination restaurant or steakhouse environment.
- Fine dining experience required.
- Thorough wine knowledge.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Professional demeanor.
- Ability to work well under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
- Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization in a professional manner.
- Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions.
- Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.
- Bachelors degree desired.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
