About this role
Evergreen FS is an agricultural and energy-related cooperative company within the FS brand. The GROWMARK Accounting Intern will gain practical experience in accounting operations, sales tax exemption records, fixed asset reconciliation, electronic document storage, customer service, and technology-enabled workflow improvements while participating in mentorship, networking, professional development, and a capstone project.
What you'll do:
- Assist the accounting team with organizing and maintaining sales tax exemption records. This includes verifying exemption status, researching and collecting necessary documentation, and supporting the implementation of updated reporting methods and process improvements
- Contribute to fixed asset record keeping by reconciling asset information and working with location managers to update/dispose of assets by location
- Support research and implementation of updated electronic accounting document storage using SharePoint, with exposure to AI tools such as Copilot
- Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Participate in all GROWMARK Internship Program activities and meetings
- Actively participate in mentoring, networking, and professional development opportunities
- Complete and present a summer internship project
What they're looking for:
- Pursuing a degree or certification from a community college, technical college, or university and in good academic standing at the start of the internship, with preferred candidates going into their junior or Senior year at the time of the internship (i.e., juniors going into their senior year qualify, but students graduating before the start of their internship do not)
- Proven computer skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with co-workers and customers are required
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Demonstrate essential abilities: business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, mathematical abilities, decision making and skill development
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record, along with willingness to travel, including occasional overnight travel
- Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK's policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position
- Ability to work a minimum of 12 weeks over the Summer, starting May 24, 2027, at the latest
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred
