Hardware Engineering Co-op - Spring 2027

HMS Networks develops industrial communication products that connect machines to software and systems. The company is seeking a Hardware Engineering Co-op/Intern student to assist with the development, testing, validation, and sustainment of embedded industrial automation products.

What you'll do:

• Works in collaboration with the engineering team and operations in the design, validation, and sustainment of embedded hardware designs
• Assist with thermal, vibration, and EMI/EMC testing of products
• Perform hardware Design validation testing of industrial automation products
• Become familiar with ERP system to assist with BOM creation and drawing updates
• Work with Altium CAD design tools to support component creation and schematic capture
• Develops, tests, and documents processes necessary to support design verification
• Carries out other duties as assigned as business needs require

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree program
• Background in embedded hardware design using ARM or other microcontrollers
• Good troubleshooting and debugging skills
• Knowledge with using support equipment such as Oscilloscopes and logic analyzers
• Ability to work with others in team environment
• Experience with soldering electronic components
• Must be open to learning new technologies and adapt quickly to dynamic environments
• Possesses great communication and analytical skills
