About the Department
Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. At Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, we are able to bring you a wide range of services close to home, provided by a network of board certified physicians.
The Health Information Coordinator 1/2 is responsible for screening patients in the Emergency Department screening area.
Position Duties
One year of experience in administrative services; OR
One year of training in or completion of a business or clerical-related curriculum from a business school or technical institute.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the required general experience.

Other Qualifications
Job Duties:
- Issue account numbers to patients seeking medical services.
- Verify and update patients' personal information.
- Verify and update patients' health insurance.
- Transferring orders to medical records for charting.
- Assisting patients in Community Care Medicaid obtain referrals for visits.
- Follow HIPPA Guidelines, and provide patients with HIPPA information.

Career Progression: This position may be filled as a Health information 1 or 2, depending on the applicant's qualifications.
Work Schedule: This work schedule is from 12pm- 10:30pm with rotating holidays and weekends.
