Why does the job exist?
The Healthcare Surveyor / IMB Investigator will:
- Conduct investigations into allegations of abuse, neglect or exploitation involving adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, who are served by Home and Community-Based providers under the Medicaid Developmental Disabilities Waiver, the Mi-Via (self-directed) Waiver and the Medically Fragile Waiver.
How does it get done?
The Healthcare Surveyor / IMB Investigator is responsible for:
- Conducting interviews of victims, witnesses, Interdisciplinary Team members, guardians, Case Managers, Consultants, therapist, and any other persons who may have information or knowledge of the alleged incident;
- Ensuring the health and safety of the alleged victim before and during the investigation, reviewing documentation, obtaining professional consultations and writing detailed investigative reports.

- Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities;
- Agencies that provide services to the individual;
- Direct care staff;
- Guardians;
- Case Managers;
- Consultants;
- Community Supports Consultants;
- The Developmental Disabilities Support Division (DDSD).
Ideal Candidate
The Ideal Candidate has:
- Ability to think critically;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Experience in healthcare investigations;
- Experience working as a team player;
- Experience working in the Developmental Disabilities work force.
Minimum Qualification
Employment Requirements
Must obtain a Defensive Driving Certificate.
