Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled as a student at UW–Madison (preferred)
• Interest in animal care, especially horses
• Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
• Previous horse experience is helpful but not required—training provided
• Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Experience handling and caring for horses
• Familiarity with basic equine health and behavior
• Ability to recognize signs of illness or injury
• Knowledge of barn safety and hygiene practices
• CPR or First Aid certification (a plus)

Responsibilities include:

Feeding and watering horses
Cleaning stalls and maintaining barn areas
Handling horses safely and confidently
Bringing horses in and out of their stalls and paddocks
Supporting the daily care and well-being of the herd

This role provides valuable experience working directly with horses while developing animal handling, husbandry, and management skills.

Physical Demands:

Physically able to lift 50 lbs.
