All of our system institutions place strong emphasis on service — helping to build healthier, more educated communities in South Carolina and beyond.Inclusive Excellence StatementAdvertised Job SummaryUnder general supervision, manages and coordinates a variety of professional duties in the administration of human resources programs for the Floyd School of Medicine Columbia (FSOM). Serves and maintains good working relationships with the SOMC Basic Sciences, Florence initiative, Brain Health Network, leased Prisma Health Medical Group-Midlands along with other departments for approximately 700 employees and 1700 including affiliates. This position coordinates and manages all HR-related actions, including hiring, job changes, reappointments, and terminations for staff to include FTE positions, temporary positions, research grant and time-limited positions in the HCM-Peoplesoft and PeopleAdmin systems for various departments of FSOM. Ensures operational accuracy and efficiency initiating and monitoring HR actions.Manages, plans, and coordinates various human resources-related functions to include: processing position description updates in PeopleAdmin. Submits job postings through PeopleAdmin and assists on interview committees, as needed. This position coordinates all HR-related actions, including hiring, job changes, reappointments, and terminations for faculty and staff. Manages internal performance review process for department staff Conducts follow-up activities to ensure correct updates are processed, approved, and notated in PeopleSoft HCM and special human resources-related projects as assigned. Serves as backup for Time & Labor (T/L & ABS) and benefits management. Demonstrates commitment to conducting business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Position Duties

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities- Knowledge of regulations, laws, processes, and procedures concerning human resources management.- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form.- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously- Knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products, as well as human resource products HCM PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin or similar.- Demonstrated skills in collecting, generating, and presenting data concerning human resources-related issues.- Ability to work effectively independently and as a team- Required to conduct business lawfully and ethically by consistently adhering to compliance policies, procedures, and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications- Knowledge and understanding of USC HR policies, State of SC HR regulations and applicable federal HR laws/regulations specific to higher education- Prior experience with cross functional HR program management.
