About this role

VCU Health is seeking an HR Onboarding Coordinator to provide customer service and support to candidates being hired across its health systems. The role manages new-hire documentation, verifies employment eligibility, processes background checks, maintains employment records, and addresses candidate onboarding inquiries.

What you'll do:

  • Ensures candidate completion of new hire paperwork including background check and work authorization forms. 
  • Keen verification of I-9 documents, accurate submittal of background and work authorization documents through 3rd party vendors in a timely manner
  • Conduct remote/in person verification of employment eligibility documentation for new hires in compliance with federal regulations
  • Ensure proper documentation, secure storage, and maintenance of employee I-9 forms and supporting documents
  • Complete badge pictures and uploads to appropriate database
  • Completes notarization of Virginia State Police documents and runs Virginia State Police background check
  • Ensure all forms and signatures are completed accurately and timely
  • Address any candidate inquiries related to documentation and onboarding steps
  • Serves as a representative of VCU Health Systems as patrons, visitors and/or staff of the hospital may ask for directions or other questions
  • Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department. Provides assistance to team members and accepts alternate assignments, as required, graciously

  • Required Education:  High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licensure/Certification Required: N/A
  • Years and Type of Required Experience: 0-1 years of customer service experience
  • Excellent listening and communication skills with ability to provide high quality customer service
  • Aptitude for technology and be comfortable working in many different systems
  • Must be team-focused, self-motivated, and work with a modest degree of supervision
  • Able to multi-task in fast paced environment while being detail oriented
