Summary

THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT TARRANT COUNTY HR EMPLOYEES


The Human Resources Generalist II will be responsible for assisting with the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including administering and supporting county employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and voluntary plans. This position ensures accurate benefit processing, provides employee education, and supports compliance and reporting requirements. While the role is benefits-focused, it also supports key operational HR functions such as onboarding, data management, and compliance tracking. The Human Resources Generalist II supports daily HR functions with a primary focus on compensation administration and employee leave programs including FMLA and ADA. This role provides foundational support for salary changes and pay-related inquiries, while assisting with leave documentation, tracking, and compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manages the processing of employee data changes for compensation actions, pay adjustments, job description updates, and leave program processing.
  • Verifies employee data information on status changes.
  • Conducts regular audits of employee records to verify data integrity, identify discrepancies, and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepares compensation data reports and assists with leave tracking cycles.
  • Assists employees with compensation and leave questions, claim issues, position eligibility, and employee position/pay changes.
  • Documents feedback and identify trends to support retention and engagement strategies.
  • Supports leave administration activities by coordinating FMLA documentation, tracking timelines, and escalating complex cases in a timely manner.
  • Maintains compensation and leave documentation in accordance with legal and organizational standards.
  • Collects preliminary compensation survey data and organizes spreadsheets for analyst review.
  • Prepares draft compensation reports and assists with routine leave metrics reporting.
  • Assist HR staff with HR hosted events.
  • Coordinates leave timelines and communicate updates with employee and their department.
  • Assists with the upkeep of Compensation and Leave platforms.
  • Completes STD/LTD eligibility paperwork and tracks employees when they exhaust their FMLA. 
  • Completes special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to stay organized and know how to prioritize the workload.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Competency with computers and Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
  • Advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong benefit knowledge.
  • Advanced analytical, organizational, and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret data and prepare reports. 
  • Ability to present information clearly and coordinate leave timelines and communicates updates with employees 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of related experience in HR.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or a closely related field.

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent may be required to bend, hear, keyboard, sit, stand, talk, work alone and with others, and work overtime. Must be able to lift up to 25lbs.
