About the Department
The Department of Corrections; Field Human Resource Office Region 2 is seeking to fill a Human Resource Assistant 1 position. This position provides a variety of human resource support duties to the State Correctional Institutions (SCI) Fayette and Greene. This position is physically located at SCI Fayette. Position Duties
This position provides important HR support for Region 2 by helping maintain employee records, assist supervisors, and ensure smooth administrative processes. As a Human Resource Assistant 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Position Description Support: Coordinate online position descriptions, provide guidance, and assist supervisors with updates
- File Maintenance: Maintain official and electronic personnel files and verify documentation in SAP
- Labor Relations Assistance: Log grievances, prepare files, track requests, and draft responses
- Modified Duty Coordination: Help schedule modified duty assignments for employees
- Leave and Compensation Support: Submit FMLA requests, provide policy guidance, and ensure leave is entered in SAP
- Administrative Reporting: Run monthly reports and assist with payroll audits and tracking

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time; up to one day per week after successful completion of a six-month probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office at SCI Fayette. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Minimum Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of clerical or other comparable experience which involved obtaining, providing, and evaluating information in accordance with established standards; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Other Requirements:

- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
