About this role
JM Eagle is seeking a Human Resource Coordinator to administer day-to-day plant HR operations and support corporate HR programs at the assigned location. The role manages recruitment, onboarding and termination processes, payroll, employee records, benefits claims, HRIS data, and employee questions.
What you'll do:
- Assist and support the recruitment and selection process by coordinating job postings, reviewing resumes, performing phone screens and reference checks
- Process all hourly new hires and terminations, including preparation of employee files and notification to Payroll; provide support for on-boarding activities, and coordinate exit interviews for terminated employees
- Process personnel action forms (PAFs) for hourly employees, ensure proper approvals, and input accurate data into the HRIS system
- Answer employee questions and explain company HR programs such as recruitment and placement, salary and benefit administration, and employee relations
- Change and verify address/telephone changes for hourly employees
- Process claims and related forms for statutory benefits (STD, WC, and UnemploymentInsurance) for hourly employees
- Prepare time cards for hourly staff upon hire and upon periodic expirations of existingcards; issue office electronic access cards, replace lost cards, and accept returnedcards from terminating employees
- Process payroll on a bi-weekly basis (to include verifying hours worked in AS400 andADP), review and verify payroll batch data and obtain final approvals to complete payrollin timely manner
- Type, duplicate, fax and file letters, job descriptions, policies, forms, memoranda, etc
- Maintain organized and accurate files and documentation for all hourly employees to ensure confidentiality and compliance with applicable legal requirements
- Maintain designated work spaces in a clean, safe and timely manner in compliance with the plants THM/Safety policy
- Participate in webinars, seminars and other job-related training opportunities
What they're looking for:
- Associate's degree in Human Resources, Management, Business or Psychology or equivalent, or one to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), internet/Intranet experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Abilities to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
- While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to handle, or feel, and talk or hear
- The employee is frequently required to sit
- The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and rarely lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus
- HRIS experience preferred
