About this role
About the Department
Assists employees and supervisors with questions or issues related to payroll, benefits, leave, and attendance, recruiting, and employment activities.
Ensures all required forms for changes are completed accurately and submitted to the appropriate department for timely processing.
Provides guidance on personnel-related matters, agency grievance procedures, and the employee assistance program (EAP).
Maintains personnel, medical, and leave/attendance records for all employees.
Ensures leave balances are accurate, leave statements are generated and filed twice yearly, and files are audited at the time of the employee separation.
Files leave and attendance reports and other documentation in an orderly and timely manner.
Ensures missing time is cleared weekly and that institutional staff are enrolled in and trained in KRONOS.
Ensures accurate payment for employees separating or suspended and submit personnel advice forms and supporting documents to CENTRAL Office in accordance with set payroll deadlines ensures employees account for all required hours during the work week.
Ensures vacant positions are announced via SCDC AVS and NEOGOV and processed timely.
Assists with job postings, update organizational charts as needed, and coordinate with classification and compensation on reclassification requests or other position changes.
Provides assistance to employees and the public regarding the job application process and conduct exit interviews.
Conducts new employee processing provide required information, assist with completing forms, and verify accuracy prior to submission.
Processes personnel actions, including new hires, terminations, promotions, demotions, laterals, and suspensions.
Prepares and maintains classification records, and position descriptions.
Provides administrative support to the institutional Warden, supporting all operational areas as directed through correspondence, responding to complaints, and other assigned duties.
Run SCEIS reports needed for daily HR operations.
Assists with inspections, special projects, and charitable campaigns.
Provide guidance and supervision to the Business Associates and remain knowledgeable of Business Office policies.
Ensure EPMS forms are completed in accordance with agency policy.
Review corrective actions for policy compliance and attend all corrective action meetings.
Coordinate Workers’ Compensation claims with the EHSO and ensure employees receive medical treatment.
Coordinate tuberculosis and hepatitis B tracking and update emergency data via CRT.
Maintain ACA-related HR documentation and serve as the certifying Official for VA On-the-Job Training programs.
Position Duties
